When it comes to holiday-based memorabilia, I will have to give Memory Lane their due. They love to dig around and bring out all the classics that most of us grew up with. While specializing in Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys over past few years, they've also dipped into a few other favorites, including Charlie Brown and a series based on Disney's animated version of A Christmas Tale.
The series includes separate figures for Mickey Mouse (Bob Cratchit),
Donald Duck (Fred),
Morty Mouse (Tiny Tim),
Scrooge McDuck (Ebenezer Scrooge),
Minnie Mouse (Mrs. Cratchit) and
Goofy (Jacob Marley). Along with the singles is a boxed set that features the Ghosts of Christmas, including Jiminy Cricket (Past),
Willie the Giant (Present) and
Pete (Future). And, if that wasn't enough, there's also an ornament set based on the cartoon.
As with Memory Lane's other sets, this series is all about quality reproduction. The figures in the set look dead-on with the original media and are packaged nicely. There isn't a lot of poseability, but to be honest, you really aren't going to want more than what the set gives you. Some of the figures show some real care in the way they're both scultped and how the final pieces look. Goofy as Marley's Ghost looks great as he's been represented.
If you loved the original cartoon and want to have a set of holiday-themed figures to show off with the rest of your decorations, go out and grab a full set of these right away. While not as widespread as the Rudolph figures, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding these before the holidays are out.
